Passive Voice
Today we learned about passive voice. It was very interesting when I did the first excessive because I had just 4 correct sentences out of 10, after a good explanation from the teacher and watching 2 YouTube videos, I got everything correct and also I explained the theme to a classmate. The structure of passive voice is: a form of to be + past participle. The first task was correcting 10 new sentences in pairs and then writing a short paragraph of about 200 words including 5 sentences in passive voice. I find this type of voice very interesting for informal speeches, because I think that it is not appropriate for informative speeches.

Informative Speech
"It
always seems impossible until it's done". (Nelson Mandela)
I chose Nelson Mandela because he is a recent symbol of freedom for many people, specially for South Africans. I visited his official website and found out a lot of things about him and I became interested in writing about his fight against racism and about the democracy that he created; the interesting part of this two things is that they were not made from one day to another, this took his entire life, but finally all of his effort brought big rewards. Although he stayed in prison for 27 years, when he got out he had still the same ideals he had on a beginning. I think he is a great example of persistence and he taught us that in order to be victorious, you have to follow your dreams, ideals and visions and just stick to them.

First Month
My first month in this class went through very fast. We had tasks as writing letters, exposing speeches and studying adverbs.
Last wednesday we presented our first period exam, it was from a feee topic and with a lenght of 400 words minimum. At first I was very nervous and I didn't know what to wrote on my essay, then I decided to writw about fossil fuel emissions because that day I read an article about it. It was very interesting to write about that specific topic and investigating about it did't required that much time.

September 2-6
This week was for saying our speeches that where worth 20% of the first partial. I heard a lot of good essays, some of them where very interesting but some others not that much. There were some people that where just saying the same thing many time to complete their 10 minutes; nevertheless, some of my classmates said very interesting speeches. Most of us did knew our topics and at least seem confident while speaking; however, there was one guy that got stuck at the beginning.
My team talked about nuclear energy, I felt we did great because we all knew about the theme and we practiced together before the due date. We knew we had to make a great effort; otherwise, we may not get a good grade.
